Arizona wants to keep its trophy, and New Mexico wants a second chance at Annexing Arizona.

We hope that the following information about this Shoot and Silver City will be helpful.

The Arizona/New Mexico Boarder Dispute 2006 will be held rain or shine. Space is limited, so register early.  The Shooting starts at 'High Noon' on Friday with Side/Pot matches, and ends Monday morning with additional Side Match opportunities. There is a MANDATORY SHOOTERS MEETING 8:00 A.M. Saturday. Your registration must be complete and Shooters packets picked up before this shooters meeting.

 

Dry Camping:   Dry Camping is Free at our Range for this Match. We will be open and ready to receive guests starting Thursday, June 29th, 2006. Outhouses and potable water are on site, and RV's can obtain water at the Fowler Lumber Building upon arrival. Overnight storage of your cart (no guns) in our Cart Corral at the Range is available.

 

Who can shoot?: Any cowboy action shooter (SASS® or NOT), is invited. The TOP GUN and individual categories will be open to any competitor.

 

Shooters Fees: See the Registration Form for details on all Fees.

 

Posse Me With: In order to accommodate you, we ask that you try to send in your reservations within reasonable proximity of your posse partner. Otherwise there may be no guarantee we can accommodate your request.

 

Ammunition Requirements You will need approximately 100 rounds of pistol, 100 rounds of rifle and 50 rounds of shotgun ammunition for the Main Match Stages. You are scheduled to shoot 10 stages, Six (6) on Saturday and Four (4) on Sunday. You will also need ammo for Side Matches and the Posse shoot.

 

Side Matches: There will be several fun pot shoot side matches. So bring some of that folding stuff with you and have some fun on Sunday and Monday after the Main Match. The cost will be one dollar for each side match shooter attempt (as many as you can justify), with a winning pot of 20%, 10%, and 5% going to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. Man-on-Man, LR-Pistol, LRR Rifle (pistol caliber), LRR-Single/Lever/Quigley.

 

Cowboy Clays: Will be conducted on Sunday for a $10 match fee, with a winning pot of 30%, 20%, and 10% going to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.

 

Ammunition Requirements for Side Matches: Bring lots... you will be able to shoot the side matches as often as you like. You'll need an extra box or two of Shotgun shells if you fancy yourself the Cowboy Clay champ.

 

BRASS: Brass will be picked-up and returned to each shooter. (provided we can find it all!)

Scoring:  Main Match will be Total Time scoring.

 

Awards: The Awards ceremony will be held Sunday Afternoon starting around 3:00PM. Certificates will be awarded to all clean match shooters.

 

Door Prizes: There should be a wide variety of door prizes that can be drawn beginning Saturday afternoon.

 

Saturday Night Dinner: Dinner on Saturday night is included for all registered Ground and Mounted shooters. For additional diners, there is a $12 individual dinner coupon fee.

 

Vendors: There will be food and Drink available on the range, and although we aren't actively soliciting other retailers, we hope to accommodate any Vendor with an inclination to show there wares on Sutler's Row. Water will also be available close to each range.

 

Mounted Shoot Information:  

Refund Policy: Entry Deadline is June 15, 2006. Refund requests received prior to June 15, 2006 are subject to a $5.00 processing fee. Refunds after June 15, 2006, are subject to a $10.00 processing fee, and No refunds after June 25, 2006. Late entry surcharge is $5.

 

General Information

The included Saturday Night Dinner, will be hosted informally on the Range by the local Eastern Star chapter of the Mimbres Lodge of (Full Moon) Masons. The Mimbres Cafe will be open for the evening meals. A selection of  food and soft drinks will be available for purchase at the range. Water jugs will be stationed around the range for the 'dry and parched'. Remember, New Mexico is very warm and dry in July, so be sure and drink plenty of fluids.

 

There are many other things for the non-shooters to do in Silver City and the surrounding area, so bring your significant other. There are over 50 art galleries in the area, numerous shops in the historic Bullard Street downtown area, two museums and nice parks. There are also several interesting day trips available, like the City of Rocks, the Cliff Dwellings, and the Cat Walk, to name a few. Visit the Silver City/Grant County Chamber of Commerce for information on the surrounding area.
