   Spring Fling

Our annual Spring Fling rummage sale will be held on April 17, 2010, at the

parking lot of the Visitor’s Center on Hudson Street, and we need your help! Mostly we want all of you to clean out your closets, garages and storage sheds, and bring us all the wonderful, salable items you don’t use anymore.  We can use almost anything, from dishes and pots & pans, to tools, toys, trinkets, and furniture.  Bedding and clothing are alright, too, if they are clean and in good condition. This is to help OUR program, so get busy and fling your treasures from spring cleaning in our direction. For more information call Karen Bryan (534-4066) or her co-chair Marilyn Berry (534-0231).

Project R.E.A.D.

       Reading Encourages

                  All Dreams

Project READ 2009-2010 is working hard to achieve  their goal of three free books for each child in Grant County and, when possible, beyond. Caroline Baldwin , LLL board president is the chair of  this project reports that we received 3,942 from First Book.  These need to be labeled and then will be distributed to local families and children. If you enjoy seeing a child’s face light up, you will really enjoy our book distributions. Two are tentatively scheduled: Stout Family Reading Night, April 27 from 5:30 to 6:30 pm; and the Hurley Pride Day, MAY 8th,  Call the office or Caroline (388-8771) to get involved.  It’s fun!

What’s cooking?  volunteers’ In-service

Experienced tutors:  We need your help! Please come to the in-service and tutors’ roundtable on Friday, March 19th from 2-3:30 pm.  The bulk of the time will be tutors sharing their solutions, ideas, and concerns.  Seeing how it is only two short days after St. Patrick’s Day, I will be still thinking green so be prepared for fun! Also please bring your LLL handbook .If you do not have one, please call the office so we will have one waiting for you. We’d like to know if you’re coming so we will have plenty of green root beer. Remember: in-services are a great time to

Introduce a friend to our program!
