Descriptive Statement

Literacy Link - Leamos is a non-profit organization and a community of learners and volunteers dedicated to promoting literacy, learning and the love of reading in Grant County.

 

Our Slogan is...  "Let's Read"   (Leamos)

 

Our Vision is...

The overall improvement of literacy and practical life skills in the communities we serve.

 

Our Goals are to...

  • Recruit, train and support volunteer tutors and learners.

  • Provide individual assessment and tutoring to learners in basic reading, writing, speaking, mathematics, work and life skills.

  • Encourage family participation in literacy development at home and school.

  • Support second language learning for individuals and families.

  • Sponsor programs, public events, and publicity for literacy.

  • Promote community partnerships for literacy.

  • Continue to meet the needs of the community.
